Cement is responsible for roughly eight per cent of global carbon emissions, and the chemistry that causes it has barely changed in a century.
Strandfall combines computational screening with a high-throughput physical lab to search the space of alternative binders, testing thousands of formulations against real structural requirements rather than laboratory ideals.
Two formulations are now in commercial trials with European producers.
Why we invested
This was the hardest technical diligence we have run. Ines and Felix were candid about what had not worked, which in deep science is the strongest signal of integrity. We backed a decade-long company and told them so.
